PINK MASQUERADE
Get ready for Pink Masquerade who are one of the newest up and coming poppunk alternative bands around and direct from Akron, Ohio delivering some fresh new original music. They bring back a revival of 90’s grunge, 80’s punk and 21st century pop punk. It’s energetic, intense, and with an edge–the music that will fuel your mind with a great listening experience with influences that include Blink 182, Slipnot, The Melvins, April Levine, Paramore and Green Day.
In 2021, Pink Maskerade started as a solo project with Ashley (lead vocalist) fronting the project. She teamed up with Strictly Street Music Group to record the hit single “Fake Friends”. She then began touring and opening for Twista, Luke Nasty, Jamie Ray, and more. Now as a full band, the debut EP “Sadgirl’ was just released by the band.
The band includes Ashley on vocals, Darian on lead guitar and vocals, Mark on bass and Tom on drums.
Ashley said, “Our sound can range from grunge to alternative to indie to poppunk emo and everything in between. We are very diverse as a band. We don’t stick to one genre of music so there is something for everyone to enjoy. We are a revival of 90s grunge, 2009s Poppunk and 80s punk. We love our music and want to share it with the world.”
As for the band name Pink Masquarade, Amanda said, “A lot of the lyrics are about self identity and things that people are scared to faces people can sometimes have A Maskerade about them. Our sound can range from grunge to alternative to indie to poppunk emo and everything in between. We are very diverse as a band. We don’t stick to one genre of music so there is something for everyone to enjoy.”
“We just released an all original EP called Sad Girl which we are super stoked about, said Ashley. You can find it on all major music platforms. We are about to be introducing the world to our new bassist in a couple weeks. It’s mostly about life’s struggles, everything about love, self identity, doubt and heartbreak and everything in between. It’s about being a sad girl in this world.”
Ashley: It is everything someone has experienced in one way or another. I think a lot of people can relate to the lyrics and songs we have created.
Talking about the tracks on the EP, Ashley said, “Sad Girl It’s about being a sad girl in this world. Tell Me: Tell Me is a love story about being completely open and enjoying the cute moments we share in that love. Hard to Handle: It’s about being told you’re hard to handle as a person. When you’re told those words or being judged in that way you can think really low of yourself. This is basically a defiant song to those people. I don’t think I’m hard to handle, You just don’t know how to handle me. Falling Apart: this song is all about depression. It’s about trying to conquer the lowest parts of your life and laying it all down and rising above it. If anyone struggles with depression please contact us. We would love to be that shoulder to lean on. Don’t Wanna Be: This song is all about having insecurities in love, jealousy etc. Don’t Go: Not wanting that one person to leave. You think you may be with that one person forever but it may not last forever. This song is about not wanting that love to expire: Ghost: ghost is about feeling so disassociated from someone you feel like you’re a ghost. You want so desperately to rekindle that feeling but sometimes that spark just goes away.
